Thermal shipping labels

Thermal shipping labels print your courier and Royal Mail labels cleanly and fast. Direct thermal labels (no ribbon) are the standard for despatch — they're quick, low-cost and ideal for labels used within days.

For labels that need to last — product, asset or cold-store labelling — thermal transfer with a ribbon gives a durable print. Common despatch sizes like 4x6 (100 × 150mm) are the workhorse for online sellers.

Choosing thermal labels

  • Direct thermal for shipping — no ribbon, fades over time
  • Thermal transfer for durable, long-life print
  • 4x6 (100 × 150mm) fits most courier label formats
  • Rolls and fanfold sized to your printer

Before you order, check

  • The internal size fits your product with room for protection
  • The pack quantity matches how fast you get through them
  • Postage banding — will it post as a Large Letter or a parcel?
  • Whether you need a stronger grade for weight or transit
  • If a recyclable or plastic-free option suits your customers

Common buyer questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need direct thermal or thermal transfer labels?
For shipping labels, direct thermal — they're used quickly so fading isn't an issue, and you avoid buying ribbons. Use thermal transfer where the print must last.
